4,000 Families to Receive Food and Supplies

New York, N.Y. (April 15, 2009) –Feed The Children’s next stop on the “Americans Feeding Americans Emergency Caravan” will be in New York City to help sustain 4,000 families in need.

Ten tractor-trailers filled with food and personal care items will be distributed on Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24. The April 23 distribution will begin following a press conference at 10 a.m. at Kingsbridge Armory, located at

29 Kingsbridge Road
in Bronx, NY., to help recently laid off hotel and restaurant employees affected by the drop in tourism. The April 24 distribution will begin at 10 a.m. at
175th Street
between St. Nicholas and Audubon in New York City.

Feed The Children and Joel and Victoria Osteen, working with local partner agencies Christ Alive Community Church and Church of the Incarnation, will provide a box of food and a box of personal care items to recipients. The boxes are designed to help supplement a family for up to one week.

“This economic crisis is affecting so many families in the United States right now,” said Larry Jones, founder and president of Feed The Children. “Feed The Children is committed to helping as many of those families as we possibly can. We are so thankful to everyone who is helping bring hope to these struggling families and we will continue to keep them in our prayers.”

New York City is the fourth of many cities on the “Americans Feeding Americans Emergency Caravan” food distribution tour from Feed The Children.
