Global Hispanic Group Fuels Movement In US

COLORADO SPRINGS  – Following the Empowered21 Global Congress a series of global Empowered21 gatherings have been developing that will continue to help shape the future of the Spirit-empowered movement around the world. The Empowered21 leadership cabinets for these gatherings are forming on every continent including a unique and dynamic Hispanic Congress cabinet that will collaborate with the USA cabinet for their summit in 2012.

The Empowered21 Hispanic Congress cabinet will help shape the future of the Spirit-empowered movement among Hispanics in the United States by focusing on critical issues facing the movement and connecting generations for intergenerational blessing and impartation.

“We are excited about Empowered21’s partnership with the Pentecostal Congress of the NHCLC to now form the Empowered21 Hispanic Congress cabinet,” said Billy Wilson, Executive Director for the International Center for Spiritual Renewal and Empowered 21. “The Spirit-filled Hispanic church in America is one of the rising forces in our generation. Many of the fastest growing churches in America are Spirit-empowered Hispanic congregations. The focus of Empowered21 on the future of the movement should serve well in helping the Hispanic Spirit-filled churches witness a continuation of the revival presently being experienced.”

Samuel Rodríguez Jr., President of NHCLC and E21 Hispanic Congress cabinet member, said, "Hispanic Spirit-filled Christians stand at the precipice of a new awakening. Via the conduit of the Empowered21 Hispanic Congress we look forward to engaging, empowering and enriching the Hispanic faith community with the necessary tools for revival and renewal. With the majority of America's 60 million Hispanics identifying themselves as Charismatic, the 21st century will see a Spirit-empowered church continue to lead in righteousness and justice."

Some of the purposes of the E21 Hispanic Congress cabinet will be to unite the Spirit-filled movement among Hispanics in the United States in an intergenerational gathering for the purpose of seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the 21st Century. They also desire to provide a platform for addressing the critical issues facing the Spirit-empowered church in the 21st Century and discover contemporary methods, vocabulary and ministry grace needed for engaging new generations in Spirit-empowered living. They will focus on the energy and resources of the Spirit-empowered, US-Hispanic church, on the harvest and challenges before them with a desire to witness greater convergence and collaboration of Spirit-empowered ministries among Hispanics in the United States.

Danny de León, Pastor of Templo Calvario and Chair of E21 Hispanic Congress cabinet, said, “God is doing some exciting things with the Hispanics in the United States and especially among the Pentecostal/Charismatic groups. The time has come for this formidable group to make its statement and take its place in the mainstream of the Church in America.”

The formational Empowered21 Hispanic Congress cabinet is at this time: Rev. Eliezer Bonilla (Abundant Life), Juanita Cercone (Enlace), Rev. Wilfredo de Jesús (New Life Covenant Ministries), Danny de León (Templo Calvario), Dr. Daniel Guajardo (ORU), Guillermo Maldonado (Ministerio Int’l El Rey Jesús), Rev. Rogelio Ovalle (NPLAD), Samuel Rodríguez Jr. (NHCLC), Juan Carlos Salcedo (Jireh Resources Co.).
