Hispanic Chamber Teams With Wells Fargo

WASHINGTON -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation in conjunction with Wells Fargo will conduct a Chamber Training Institute on Non-Profit Board Governance.   The training will be held in Houston, Texas at the Renaissance Houston Hotel, Greenway Plaza, through December 7, 2010.

The two-day course, led by the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business faculty, will present topics related to Non-Profit Board Governance, such as building an effective board, running efficient meetings and replicating successful board dynamics of other organizations. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of completion in "Non-Profit Board Governance" from the University of Notre Dame.

"The USHCC's partnership with Wells Fargo on our Chamber Training Institute is a perfect example of how we are bringing value to our chamber members," says USHCC President and CEO, Javier Palomarez. "The University of Notre Dame created this unprecedented curriculum, and we are extremely proud to offer this to chamber leadership from across the country."

The University of Notre Dame conducted a survey of 200 chamber leaders to ensure the content of each Institute resonates with chamber members as well as small business owners. Utilizing information gleaned from the survey, faculty fromUniversity of Notre Dame designed a unique curriculum based on non-profit and for-profit organizations.

The Chamber Training Institute is offered free to members of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is underwritten by Wells Fargo.
