NEW YORK,  -- Leading television industry trade publications Multichannel News andBroadcasting & Cable will present, for the first time, the annual Hispanic Television Summit during Advertising Week 2009.

 

According to Larry Dunn, Reed Television's Group Publisher for Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable, "We are pleased to add our Seventh Annual Hispanic Television Summit to the exciting line-up of major events scheduled during Advertising Week 2009. This marks the first time that the leading Hispanic television industry conference has been scheduled in tandem with the many other activities for members of the advertising community."

 

The Hispanic Television Summit attracts about 400 attendees from across the Western Hemisphere and has become the television industry's signature conference for executives involved in the business of television and digital video targeted to the US Hispanic and Latin American viewing audience.

 

The distinctive topic of the Hispanic Television Summit always focuses on the latest trends for generating revenues within the Hispanic television and digital media space notably through advertising, subscriptions, transactions, and rights fees. It attracts top executives from broadcast, cable TV, satellite TV, broadband (IPTV) and mobile television, advertising, finance, consumer electronics, video technology and other consumer goods.

 

The Opening Keynote Speech features "Don Francisco", host of Univision Network's Sabado Gigante and Don Francisco Presenta. His presentation will focus on the evolution of advertising in Hispanic television. The Summit also features a keynote presentation by Telemundo's president, Don Browne and a conversation with Jeffrey A. Hirsch, the president for Residential Services for Time Warner Cable in NY.

 

Also worth noting is the annual award that acknowledges one outstanding contributor to the business of Hispanic TV. This year, the coveted award for Lifetime of Achievement in Hispanic Television will be presented at Thursday's closing luncheon to Edgar Sandoval, the General Manager for North America Marketing at Procter & Gamble for his leadership at the company, especially for continuing this advertiser's outstanding long-time support of the Hispanic television industry

 

Wednesday, September 23 opens at 1PM with an excellent opportunity for networking during the Dessert Reception. Don Francisco's Opening Keynote Speech is followed by a lively panel discussion on the state of media and advertising and another panel about marketing that focuses on generating transactional revenues through acquisition, retention, and upgrade initiatives targeted to consumers.
