BALTIMORE, MD –The Presidents’ RoundTable (PRT) and Maryland’s Legislative Black Caucus Foundation have announced the second annual Green Energy Business Conference [GEBOC] for May 3, 2011. The diversity conference will be hosted at the newly remodeled BWI Marriott at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
The ground breaking national diversity conference on green energy business and career opportunities provides a better understanding of the rapidly emerging Green Economy. Women, veterans, minorities and other disadvantaged business owners are offered the latest insight in business trends and government programs in energy efficiency and green energy. Small and disadvantaged businesses, major utility companies, reputable venture capital firms and like minded non-profit business advocacy organizations are again being invited to participate. Procurement and matchmaking plans are now underway.
“The world of energy supply and demand has changed. Everybody is going green and we have to make sure minority and small businesses fully participate in the energy industry's financial and environmental growth. This conference will bring together many industry leaders to talk directly to minority and small businesses about available opportunities and trends. PRT is extremely pleased to join with Maryland's Legislative Black Caucus Foundation to open the dialogue and present exhibitors.” said Maria Beckett, President of the Presidents’ RoundTable.
In addition, a dedicated track will showcase in-demand careers in areas such as solar panel installation and maintenance; energy audit certifications; SMART meter installation and maintenance; wind turbine installation and maintenance; or housing insulation and retrofit training and certifications. Special outreach is underway to traditionally disadvantaged communities to increase this orientation to skills training for participation in this dynamic sector of employment.
