Minority, Women Owned Law Firms To Gather

MILWAUKEE -- Conducting corporate investigations, intellectual property due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, and legal ethics in the electronic age will be among the many critical topics on the minds of attorneys from top corporations, government agencies, and minority and women owned law firms when they get together this fall in Washington D.C.

The 2010 National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) Annual Meeting and Law Firm Expo will take place October 3-6, 2010 at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center. The theme of this year's conference is "Changing the Dialogue About Diversity." The event is open to in-house counsel and NAMWOLF member law firms.

The event features legal issue-oriented and Continuing Legal Education sessions, networking events and award presentations. The Law Firm Expo provides an opportunity for in-house legal counsel to meet with top-ranked minority and women owned law firms from around the country.

Presenters and panelists for the three-day conference include in-house legal counsel from organizations such as Accenture, FDIC, GlaxoSmithKline, Microsoft, Nationwide Insurance, the New York State Housing Finance and Mortgage Agencies, The Chubb Group, U.S. Bank, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Wal-Mart, along with attorneys representing minority and women owned law firms from across the country.

Corporate sponsors and supporters of the event include Accenture, Altria Group, Bank of America, CareMark BCBS, ConAgra Foods, Fannie Mae, Gaylord Entertainment, GlaxoSmithKline, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Nationwide, Prudential Financial, Tyco International, Verizon Communications, Wal-Mart, and We Energies. The Valued Media Sponsor of the event is The National Law Journal & Legal Times.

"This is a 'must attend' event for in-house legal counsel, minority and women owned law firms, and others who are eager to learn and discuss the very latest on important legal issues while taking advantage of incredible networking opportunities," said Yolanda Coly, NAMWOLF Managing Director.
