Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause Recruits Biggest Loser Contestant Sione Fa to Join Race in Support Local Non-Profits

MCLEAN, Va. , July 09 /Businesswire/ - Acumen Solutions, the trusted leader in Enterprise Cloud Transformation, today announced that the fourth annual Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause™ 8K and 1-Mile Fun Run will take place on October 14 in Arlington, VA and will include the help of Biggest Loser contestant Sione Fa. Through their race registration selection, participants help secure funds for ten local Superheroes ― non-profit organizations that are making a difference in the local community. Registration is open.

Last year’s Race for a Cause boasted 3000+ participants with a resulting $125,000 in charitable contributions distributed to 10 DC-area nonprofit organizations.

Each race participant will be able to select the local non-profit of choice to receive support, including:

“Our annual Race for a Cause is just another example of Acumen Solutions’ commitment to maximize the impact of our community outreach initiatives,” explained David Joubran, President and CEO, Acumen Solutions. “Now in its fourth year with significant growth year over year, we are so proud of the event’s success and are looking forward to another great year.”

This year’s race will also include a “First Timers” group to encourage individuals who may not think they can physically handle such an event. Race participants will have access to a three-month training plan on the race website and receive encouragement from Sione as the coach and pace leader for this group.

“I love the fact that there will be some ‘first timers.’ I was a first timer and can attest to the major challenge of losing weight and learning to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Fa, a group trainer and motivational speaker. “The show helped me finally get up and move and I'm proud to help others to the same.” As a contestant in Season 7 of The Biggest Loser, Fa lost more than 145 pounds.

Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause is an event for the whole family. Participants with baby strollers are encouraged to join in for the one-mile Family Fun Run. In addition to raising money for a good cause, youth participants get to be their favorite superhero for a day. All children and adult registrants are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero costumes. Children who register for the race will receive a superhero cape. At the end of the race, there will be activities and food for the kids, including life-sized cutouts of favorite superheroes.
