SUPERVALU to Host National Night out Celebration in North Minneapolis

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. , August 06 /Businesswire/ - To celebrate National Night Out this Tuesday, August 7^th, SUPERVALU INC., owner of Cub Foods, will host a neighborhood gathering at North Commons Park in North Minneapolis. The event will include a cookout, fresh produce stand, product sampling and family activities, as well as a visit from the Minneapolis Fire Department and a possible appearance by Mayor R.T. Rybak. Additionally, several local nonprofits supported by SUPERVALU will provide resources and activities for participants.

The event is located just blocks from the Minneapolis neighborhood hit hard by last summer’s devastating tornado. SUPERVALU and Cub Foods worked with local community leaders and faith groups to assist affected residents last year, and Tuesday’s event is aimed at reconnecting with the community on a night that is designated as a time for community and neighborhood celebrations.
