Xanthus Communications Welcomes Disability Advocate Kelly Rouba to Its Client List

SEATTLE, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Xanthus Communications welcomes Kelly Rouba, who is a national Spokesperson for the Arthritis National Research Foundation, to its client list. Ms. Rouba, who has had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis since she was two years old, is a disability advocate. http://kellyrouba.blogspot.com.

A former Ms. Wheelchair New Jersey, Ms. Rouba is a gifted public speaker who stirs great emotion among her audiences and inspires people to take initiative. For years, she has been speaking about disability-related topics to a wide range of audiences in various states. She also recently authored a book called Juvenile Arthritis: The Ultimate Teen Guide, which was published by Scarecrow Press.

While she was still in college, Ms. Rouba took a position as a stringer for the Trenton Times, marking the start of her career as a professional writer and journalist. Since then she has written for numerous magazines and Web sites. She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

In 2009, the Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF) created the Kelly Award, which is named after Ms. Rouba. The Kelly Award is a special designation awarded annually to one grant recipient who is devoted to studying a cure for juvenile arthritis. Ms. Rouba is co-producer of mobilewomen.org and a recipient of the 2008 Governor's Volunteerism (New Jersey) Award. In 2008, she was also named the first "Ag Femme" by Ag Apparel and a "Superstar" by CreakyJoints.org . She is on the board of trustees of Project Freedom, which is an organization that develops barrier-free housing in NJ. Currently, Ms. Rouba works full-time for EAD & Associates, an emergency management consultancy.
