On May 12 and 13, the top four students from each state across the United States will gather in Washington, D.C., to compete in the highest level of math competition. Mathletes compete as state teams of four and as individuals to be named National Champions. The event combines friendly competition and fun.

"We have strived to encourage innovation and education in youth since our humble beginnings 60 years ago," said Kevin Hess, Mouser Senior Vice President of Marketing. "By sponsoring STEM programs like MATHCOUNTS, we hope to instill a passion for science, technology, engineering or math in our future mathematicians, engineers and problem solvers."

MATHCOUNTS begins in the Fall, where students across the country compete. The middle schoolers (grades 6–8) receive rigorous math problems to help expand their academic and career opportunities in the future — inspiring students to believe in their own abilities while building self-confidence.
