Reverend Gains Support In Bid Against Rangel

HARLEM - Rev. Michel Faulkner will gain the endorsement of more than 40 prominent Hispanic and African American pastors and chaplains in his historic 15th District Congressional race against Charlie Rangel tomorrow. The event, to be held at Manos Amigas (Friendly Hand) Community Center at approximately 10:15 a.m., will be hosted by Rev. Calixto Rodriguez.

On Saturday, Rev. Faulkner will meet with the group's key leadership members at 9 a.m. Press will be invited to cover the group's presentation of Faulkner and the official endorsement, which is scheduled to take place between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. The event is scheduled to conclude at 1 p.m. Manos Amigas Community Center is located at 225 E. 118th Street (between 2nd and 3rd avenues) in New York City.

This important endorsement comes amidst a flurry of support for Rev. Faulkner, who has been working tirelessly to bring change, integrity and hope to the 15th District Congressional seat - a seat that has been tainted by ethics charges and violations of the public's trust. Rev. Faulkner plans to change the district's political dynamics, as he works to restore the American dream, while repairing the constituents' faith in the democratic process.

This important and influential endorsement signifies a community-wide recognition that Rev. Faulkner's values on issues like small business growth, the reduction of wasteful spending in Washington, and educational reform - just to name a few - are essential to community growth and prosperity. Other groups that have endorsed Rev. Faulkner include: the Republican Party of New York State, the Libertarian Party of New York State, the Manhattan Libertarian Party and the Jobenomics Movement.
