Sewall-Belmont House and Museum Honors Secretary Clinton with Alice Award

The Sewall-Belmont House and Museum will honor Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at its prestigious Alice Award Luncheon today, at 144 Constitution Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002. Each year, the Alice Award honors a woman who has broken barriers and set new precedents for women.

The Alice Award is named after Alice Paul – suffragist, human rights activist and founder of the National Woman’s Party – who spent her life tirelessly working for women’s equality. Past honorees include Katie Couric; Senators Mary Landrieu and Kay Bailey Hutchison; the women pioneers of NPR – Cokie Roberts, Susan Stamberg, Nina Totenberg and Linda Wertheimer; Tipper Gore; Billie Jean King; Evelyn Lauder.
