WHY:
The Transgender Law Center and friends will celebrate groundbreaking victories to protect and advance the rights of transgender people; unveil the State of Transgender California report, our first state-wide study on the economic health of transgender Californians; and honor champions in the movement for gender equality.

WHO:
The event will be co-hosted by San Francisco's own Tita Aida and a special, super-secret celebrity guest (name to be released on 11/3/09). The VIP reception will feature Chaz Bono (only child of Sonny and Cher), making his first appearance at a transgender event since beginning his gender transition this summer. Throughout the event, entertainment will be provided by some of the Bay Area's best talent, including Josh Klipp, Monistat, Lipstick Conspiracy and the Rice Rockettes.

As always, TLC will take time to recognize our heroes, allies and partners in the movement for transgender equality. Cecilia Chung and Jamison Green will be honored with the Claire Skiffington Vanguard Award for their history-changing contributions to transgender rights. Awards will also be presented to Juanita More, Lyon-Martin Health Services, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, and The California Wellness Foundation.

Event sponsors include the Bob Ross Foundation, The California Wellness Foundation, Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF), the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Lyon-Martin Health Services, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, the National Center for Lesbian Rights and Patiserrie Philippe.
