Yankees to honor boxing legend Ali Tonight

Former heavyweight champ to present hospitality award

"The Greatest" is coming to the Bronx.

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali will float like a butterfly and sting like a bee in Yankee Stadium tonight night when the Yankees pay tribute to the three-time world heavyweight champion and 1960 Olympic gold medalist before the Yankees-Red Sox game.

Ali, who compiled 56 wins and 37 knockouts in his storied career, experienced one of the most memorable evenings of his career at the original Yankee Stadium on Sept. 28, 1976, when he defeated Ken Norton in a 15-round decision to retain the heavyweight title.

On Thursday, Ali will be on hand along with Joseph Cinque, president of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, to present Yankee Stadium and Yankees managing general partner/co-chairperson Hal Steinbrenner with the academy's "Six Star Diamond Award," for excellence in hospitality.
