'Urban Wheel' Awards Goes Green

DETROIT -  -- Visitors to www.DecisiveMagazine.com can enter to win a pair of tickets to the 15th Annual Urban Wheel Awards, Jan. 9, 2011, at the Sound Board Theater in the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The contest will run from January 1 through January 6, 2011. The drawing will be held Friday, January 7th at 3 p.m.

Ten pairs of tickets will be given away, as part of this special event. Beginning Tuesday, January 4th, Decisive Media will be offering a $.99 subscription rate to the digital magazine. No purchase is necessary to enter the drawing. Visitors to the site will also have free access to the Magnum Opus Award winning 15th Annual Urban Wheel Awards Program Book, which will be available online five days prior to the event. This interactive digital book is loaded with messages from award winners, urban truck, car and green vehicle finalists, links to videos and much more. Visit www.decisivemagazine.com for more information.

National CBS News Analyst Jamal Simmons will serve as the Master of Ceremonies to an array of nearly 1,500 guests, including celebrities, automotive executives, ethnic organizations, media, government officials, and the multicultural community. Legendary trumpeter Rayse Biggs will perform. Immediately following the awards, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dwele will also give a special performance at the Chevrolet/OnStar AfterGlow.

A daylong event, the Urban Wheel awards will open with a "green" ribbon-cutting ceremony for its Green Car and Technology Exhibit, held prior to the awards ceremony, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The exhibit -- which is free and open to the public -- will also showcase a collection of fuel-efficient as well as alternatively-fueled vehicles, including the latest electric and hybrid vehicles. A VIP "green carpet" and reception will be held at 5 p.m., followed by the awards at 7 p.m. The evening will conclude with the Chevrolet/OnStar AfterGlow, from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
