Fantasy of Flight will bring history to life in 2009 with a new "Living History" Symposium Series. Guests will learn first-hand the personal stories and experiences of some of America's most courageous heroes.
Symposium Featuring The Courageous Women of the WASP
A Passionate Pursuit - The WASP - March 27 & 28, 2009In honor of Women's History Month, Fantasy of Flight is proud to announce part two of the "Living History" Symposium Series "A Passionate Pursuit" the WASP - Women Airforce Service Pilots which will take place Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. Join three of these barrier busting females as they bring to life tales of the first American women to fly for the U.S. Military. The WASP who will be answering questions and interacting with guests include:
* Betty Blake
* Beatrice Heydu
* Helen Snapp
Fantasy of Flight's WASP exhibition, which includes aircraft as well as four separate bays that feature historical, anecdotal, and inspirational newsreel footage, original photos, and storytelling panels from the 1940s and today, will serve as the perfect backdrop for the historic appearances from these real, original WASP.
