Hispanic Evangelicals Launch 40 Day Fast
WASHINGTON -- America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, has announced the launch of a National Hispanic Fast that began on September 1st and will conclude on October 10, 2010.
“In the Spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14 we call upon all Hispanics to seek God via humility, repentance and prayer. God promises to heal our land the moment we consecrate ourselves. We need God to heal our community. We face significant challenges in our present day and age. From the lack of immigration reform to teen pregnancy, an unacceptable Hispanic High School graduation rate to socio economic hardship, our community must seek the Presence of Almighty God.
I believe Hispanics will emerge in our nation as the proverbial firewall of righteousness and justice defending Life, religious liberty and biblical truth. This of course requires for our community to address the many challenges we face from within not just from without. It’s time for repentance, reconciliation and restitution,” declared Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, Association President.
The fast includes the mobilization of over 30,000 churches that will address on Sunday Services critical issues ranging from Strengthening Marriages on October 3rd, and registering Hispanic Faith voters on October 10. On October 10th, association churches from New York to California will raise an offering for Evangelism in partnership with Mike Silva International. MSI stands as one of the most successful evangelistic ministries with outreach to the Hispanic community.
“We are minutes away from a new Awakening in America. Via our commitment to winning the lost and activating our community, our nation will experience a spiritual renewal for the Glory of Christ,” added Dr. Jesse Miranda, NHCLC CEO.
The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference is the Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals unifying, serving and representing the Hispanic Born Again Community by reconciling the vertical and horizontal of the Christian Message via the 7 Directives of Life, Family, Great Commission, Stewardship, Justice, Education and Youth.
