Latina Business Series Draws Industry Leaders

 WASHINGTON -- LATINA Style Magazine, the premier magazine addressing the needs of the Latina professional and business owner, will be presenting the LATINA Style Business Series in Miami; celebrating its 12th Year Anniversary Tour. The LATINA Style Business Series will take place on Thursday, October 14, 2010, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Hilton Miami Downtown Hotel

This interactive business development program brings together Latina business owners with key corporations and government agencies that provide the goods and services needed for success. Over 27,000 Latina entrepreneurs in over 80 cities have participated in the Series since its inception in 1998.

Latina Style is delighted to announce the Miami Business Series Co-chairs: ELAINE VASQUEZ, Co-Owner of El Heraldo de Broward Newspaper, and SUSANA ALVAREZ-DIAZ, President of The Alvarez-Diaz Group.

Latina Style also announced special guest speakers: During Breakfast the Honorable Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen will be providing opening remarks. Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen became the first Hispanic woman and first Cuban-American elected to Congress when elected to represent Florida's 18th Congressional District in the United StatesHouse of Representatives in 1989. Also welcoming the audience will be Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa.Commissioner Sosa was elected to the Miami-Dade Board of County commissioners in June 2001 to represent the residents of District 6 and has been re-elected twice. Presenting at the Awards Luncheon will be Featured Speaker Commissioner Luz Urbaez Weinberg. Commissioner Urbaez Weinberg has served on the City of Aventura Commission since 2005 as the first and only Hispanic elected to the city's Council. The luncheon Keynote Address will be delivered by Anna Escobedo Cabral, Family Finance Ambassador for AARP. Former U.S. Treasurer, Anna Cabral, has taken on a new role as the Family Finance Ambassador for AARP, the world's largest member organization for people 50 plus.

Furthermore, presenters at the Business Series will have the opportunity to interact with the audience, clarifying the issues, addressing the problem areas, and highlighting the products, services and procurement opportunities their corporation provides. Local business leaders will share fist-hand experiences of how they were able overcome obstacles, attain work-life balance, and stay motivated in their business, to attain true business success. Additionally, Macy's, Inc. has engaged their local cosmetic partners, Dior, who will showcase an all day Beauty Lounge for attendees!
