Bronx parade

NEW YORK ---  New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave our photographer the thumbs-up sign as he lead a St. Patrick's Day parade over the weekend in the Bronx, a prelude to Thursday's big parade along famed Fifth Avenue. The New York celebration is expected to be the largest St. Patrick's Day parade, perhaps even trumping what takes place in Ireland.
