Organization of Chinese Americans To Honor Kraft Foods, Inc. at Convention

Washington DC—OCA, a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans, announced that Kraft Foods, Inc. will receive OCA’s 2009 Corporate Partner Award at the OCA Gala Awards Banquet on Saturday, August 8. The Gala will be held at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

“Kraft’s dedication and support of OCA, OCA’s mission and the Asian Pacific American community has been unwavering throughout the years we’ve been involved with them,” said OCA National President Ken Lee. “We are proud to name them our Corporate Partner of the Year.”

Kraft has been one of the most valued supporters of the OCA National Convention and the National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards.  Kraft has not only sponsored OCA national and local chapter events, but they have also been an integral part of the Business Advisory Council (BAC) which provides critical support for OCA’s programming.

“Kraft Foods is a proud supporter of OCA’s mission of social justice and equal opportunity.  As a global corporate leader, it’s critical that the cultural diversity of our consumers is reflected in our workforce and that we help build stronger communities.” Irene Rosenfeld, chief executive officer of Kraft.

The OCA National Convention is one of the largest annual gatherings of APAs.  This year the convention features three days of workshops, exhibits and a career fair, youth and college programs, a community health fair, and many notable speakers and guests. Convention activities also include a tour of Angel Island.

OCA will also honor its members during the week with the Chapter of the Year Award, the Unsung Hero Awards, and several college scholarships. A full schedule is available online at www.ocanational.org.
