Seventh Sense Consulting (SSC) Celebrates Lindsey Urrutia, Executive Vice President of Business Operations for Women's History Month in this Spotlight Interview

PR Newswire

WOODBRIGE, Va., March 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Seventh Sense Consulting (SSC) Celebrates Lindsey Urrutia, Executive Vice President of Business Operations for Women's History Month in this Spotlight Interview

Q: Tell us a little bit about your background and what brought you to the SSC family?

A: I've held various positions in the industry ranging from business analysis to client delivery and market research. I knew SSC's managing partners from past positions and jumped at the opportunity to work with such a great group of people again. Enjoying the work you do is important, but having a great team is equally, if not more, important.

Q: What advice would you give to other women in such a

male-dominated industry?

A: Be yourself, rather than the person you think you are expected to be. Work hard and play hard, too. Trust your instincts and don't be afraid to voice your opinion.

Q: What types of challenges have you faced as a professional woman and leader? How did you overcome it?

A: I've been very fortunate to work for organizations that are very supportive of my professional goals. I will say that balancing my work life with my home life has been the biggest challenge for me over the last several years. Some days are better than others, but I've learned to accept that I can't do it all alone. Learning to ask for help when you really need it in all areas of life is a crucial skill!

Q: Who is the most influential woman you know? How does she

inspire you?

A: The most influential woman I know personally is my mother, Beverly Paul. She was an officer in the U.S. Army in the 1970s before that was a common occurrence. Then after being a stay-at-home mom for years, she became a teacher where she influenced hundreds of elementary schoolers over the years. Now retired, she spends much of her time with my young daughters and caring for them when they're not in school. There is no question that she's been a driving influence in my life.

Q: How do you support other women personally and professionally?

A: I typically listen more than I talk, which I've found is one of the best ways to support other women (and men!). Whether someone needs a sounding board or just wants to feel heard, I make time to listen to others and offer my thoughts if welcomed.

I've worked for and learned from several strong female leaders in the past, SSC's own Jackie Johnson and Lisa Akers included, so I hope I'm able to mentor up-and-coming leaders in the same way.

Q: What does this year's WHM Theme mean to you and how do you plan to honor and celebrate it?

A: Resilience seems particularly relevant right now as we all find our way through the COVID-19 pandemic. It takes both resiliency and innovation to keep operations moving during such unusual times. Thankfully those are both valued traits in the Seventh Sense culture as we constantly think about better ways to provide solutions for our customers.

Q: Name 7 traits of a successful women?

A: Courageous, insightful, compassionate, decisive, passionate determined, and positive.
