Abusers Can Be Found Even Within the Church, But Victims Can Choose to Become Victors

Abusers Can Be Found Even Within the Church, But Victims Can Choose to Become Victors

Xulon Press offers understanding advice to those who have been taken advantage of by spiritual leaders.

PR Newswire

RIVERSIDE, Calif., June 5, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pastor Tahira Staten-Murphy shares her wisdom and advice to abuse victims in Revealed to Heal: Overcoming Church Rape ($11.49, paperback, 9781631294235; $5.99, e-book, 9781631294242).

Staten-Murphy addresses many forms of abuse in a phrase she has coined as "church rape." Abuse can be sexual, but also financial, emotional or verbal, all in the name of God or the church. Whether or not the abuser is revered as a spiritual leader, God is not behind their actions and victims can turn their situation around to move forward.

"Abuse in any form is wrong and not the Will of God but it happens; yet, through the grace of God and His love, restoration and forgiveness can take place in your heart and wisdom can be gained," said Staten-Murphy.

Pastor Tahira Staten-Murphy is an ordained pastor of Joy in Jesus Ministries. Along with her seminary training, she combines 20 years of Christian counseling with over 30 years of personal experience dealing with issues related to abuse within the church.
