Donation Helps Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee

Drew Maddux and Active Performance Gear to give thousands of dollars in gear to the Clubs.

PR Newswire

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Active Performance Gear (APG), owned by Paul Gravette/Gravette Companies, and Tennessee Nike Basketball Camp Director Drew Maddux have teamed up to support local youth and their families. Through APG they are donating thousands of dollars in performance apparel and accessories to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee.

"Without the opportunity to play sports when I was young," said Mr. Maddux, "I never could have achieved the level of ability and success I did as an adult. The Boys & Girls Clubs have such a positive effect on children when they need it most. Their neighborhood-based facilities are designed just for youth programs and activities. I'm proud to be able to do my part to help the Clubs and the kids."

The activewear and gear donation by Mr. Maddux also comes from APG and its founder, Paul Gravette. "What prompted me to give to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee is knowing that they are there when the kids need them, whether it's after school, during the summer, or whenever kids have free time," said Mr. Gravette. "And of course they get the guidance they need from trained youth development professionals who act as role models and mentors."

The donation comes at a time when the Boys & Girls Clubs need a helping hand. "These unprecedented times of lockdowns and uncertainty demand each of us to do our part to help wherever we can," said Mr. Maddux. "I wanted to make sure they have what they need to continue their mission."

Mr. Gravette, whose philanthropic efforts also include supporting organizations promoting child development, agrees. "Giving back is an integral part of my philosophy. I've been very fortunate in my life and I feel it's not only a duty but a privilege to share my success with others who need a helping hand."
