BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 4, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- National Seniors Housing Operator Meridian Senior Living, LLC is excited to release its new YouTube video "Cleanliness & Safety in Our Communities", accessed here. With over 1.3k views, this informative video was launched in July 2020 as the first of a series of videos centered on how Meridian Senior Living communities are adapting to keeping residents safe and active during the global pandemic. Created by STAT Healthcare Consultants, this more than three-minute video outlines the steps that Meridian is taking at their communities to keep everyone safe while providing engaging activities and extraordinary experiences to their residents.

"We were thrilled to see such positive feedback and immense response to this first video of our series, as it truly represents our procedures and protocols established by our leadership in concert with in-house experts," states Kevin Carlin, Principal and Chief Sales Officer, Meridian Senior Living. "We are proud to showcase that our communities across the country have embraced our mission to provide extraordinary experiences for our residents and that means going above and beyond to ensure a safe experience."

Featuring the roles of residents, families, and staff members, the video demonstrates some of the precautions including implementing infection controls, CDC and industry best practices for cleanliness and procedures such as diligently cleaning all high-touch areas with hospital-grade disinfectants and practicing proper hygiene. Furthermore, it covers how staff have been retrained and other precautions are taken such as maintaining social distancing guidelines and restricting visitation. The video highlights an adult son's experience in making the decisions to move his mother into a Meridian Senior Living community. He explains that while these are difficult times, it summed up to that he felt comfortable moving his mother into a Meridian community, because he felt that he, himself, would be comfortable living there.

At the onset of the pandemic, the leadership team at Meridian Senior Living huddled together daily to plan how they would implement policies and procedures as Mr. Carlin explains in the video. The policies were developed in consultation with medical experts among the Meridian Senior Living family. Mr. Carlin further emphasizes with families in how difficult these times are to partner with communities in maintain safety as guidelines restrict us from hugging our family members, particularly seniors, our most vulnerable population.

The video emphasizes the preparedness of communities as Meridian Senior Living has procured for them nearly 300,000 N95 masks, 68,000 surgical masks, 300 no-touch thermometers, more than 160,000 gowns, more liters of hand sanitizer "than we can count", and a number of other personal protective equipment for their dedicated staff across the country. The video also features how residents are keeping active and connected with hallway exercises and using technology to speak with loved ones.

"There's so much energy developing at Meridian right now," said Carlin. "This first video is the catalyst for more enlightening ones to follow."

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Meridian Senior Living Communities remain open and have rooms move-in ready for new residents. As older adults are secluded in their homes, it had been challenging for those who may not have options to venture out to procure essential items or socialize as society reopens. Meridian Senior Living communities provide dedicated employees that are trained and certified to assist in daily support functions such as dressing, bathing, medication management and especially the ability to immediately respond to emergency circumstances. Furthermore, Meridian Senior Living communities are creative in keeping their residents engaged with activities and, where allowed by state and local health departments, are implementing outdoor visitation, group activities, and communal dining.
