Greensfelder Partners With Homethrive to Offer Family Elder Care Benefit to Employees

Greensfelder Partners With Homethrive to Offer Family Elder Care Benefit to Employees

Employees of the Law Firm Will Have Access to Fully-covered Caregiver Benefit As Part of Larger Benefits Package.

PR Newswire

CHICAGO, Aug. 4, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. announced it is partnering with Homethrive, a family elder care coordinator, to offer all of its employees a fully covered family caregiver service benefit as part of the firm's broader benefits package.

Available immediately, the firm is offering the benefit to all employees across its St. Louis, Chicago, and Southern Illinois offices. Through Homethrive, the firm's employees will have individual access to Care Guides who provide bespoke coaching and concierge services for aging loved ones who live at home. Care Guides work with employees to learn about the loved one, identify opportunities and arrange third-party services, reducing employee stress and helping shoulder the burden of caregiving.

Offering a caregiver benefit builds upon the firm's commitment to increased mental health offerings and overall support to employees through the Greensfelder Well-Being Program. In addition, it builds on parental and remote work policies that help create an equitable, inclusive, and supportive environment. The firm's support programs for all stages of family life include a reintegration program for those on extended leave, parent mentoring services, counseling services, and other benefits. The Homethrive partnership adds an important new dimension to those offerings.

"We are excited to be partnering with Homethrive to offer a family caregiving benefit that helps us give employees the support they need," said Kevin T. McLaughlin, Greensfelder's President and CEO. "We hope that by offering this benefit, we are not only able to reduce stress and increase productivity but also improve our employees' overall well-being in all aspects of their lives."

The hidden caregiver crisis affects employees and companies, ultimately having the potential to affect worker productivity and cut short otherwise successful careers. According to a Harvard Business School survey, a third of employees who left a position due to caregiving reported taking care of an elder with daily living needs as a reason for leaving their job.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Greensfelder to offer their employees, who are also caregivers, the support they need when caring for an aging loved one," said David Greenberg, Co-founder & Co-CEO at Homethrive. "Greensfelder smartly recognizes that the pandemic is a particularly stressful and overwhelming time for those who are primary caregivers to parents who live nearby and far away. Offering a caregiving benefit will have a positive impact on their employees of all ages, many of whom are worried about an aging parent more than ever before."
