Rain River Learning Center in St. Augustine Opening Monday, August 10th

Rain River Learning Center is a brand-new childcare option that is opening on August 10th in the St. Augustine Shores area to meet the growing demand for quality daycare solutions for local parents.

SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla., Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The lack of childcare options in St. Augustine is a growing concern for families. Rain River Learning Center is excited to open its doors to help ease parents' stress in looking for safe, curriculum-based, comprehensive, compassionate childcare for children aged 6-weeks through VPK age four and after school care for children ages 5-12. Owner and educator Lindsay Morris says, "We are so thrilled to finally be able to open our doors after several construction and then COVID related delays. The center is fully staffed, licensed, and ready to go!" The opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the center on August 20th at 4:30 PM with the local St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. All are invited to attend.

Rain River Learning Center offers a unique approach to daycare and after school care by offering on-site extracurricular activities for kids such as karate, gymnastics, and dance classes. The center is also providing hands-on learning through STEM projects, digital learning tools, sign language, sensory activities, art projects, outside play and gardening, and more. The center's staff have undergone intensive 80-hour training and are all certified in Baby Signs Too, Conscious Discipline, and are continually working through High Scope Curriculum training. All staff will also be CPR certified.

Rain River Learning is the brain-child of Lindsay Morris, a mother, educator, and counselor who saw a need for a center that addresses the holistic needs of families. Lindsay serves as Director and a VPK teacher at Rain River Learning. Lindsay holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida in Sociology (2005), a Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Webster University (Jacksonville, 2010), the Florida Teaching Certificate since 2012. She also has a Specialist in Educational Leadership degree from Liberty University.

Lindsay is passionate about her work and practices what she preaches and is a life-long learner herself. She is committed to being knowledgeable in her field and up-to-date on new educational strategies and developments. Lindsay is passionate about providing a strong educational foundation, and believes it is essential that all areas of need are met to create an optimal learning environment. This belief is rooted, not only in the knowledge Lindsay has acquired from her own educational endeavors, but also in the wisdom she has gained through her professional career. Lindsay has served in many professional roles that have equipped her with the necessary skills and insight needed to provide excellent childcare and educational opportunities.
