COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 19, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Galapagos Federal Systems made a strategic move into the increasingly vital Colorado aerospace defense market this summer, recruiting 24-year Air Force Space Command veteran Mike Kleppe to head up the new location at Catalyst Campus in downtown Colorado Springs. Hawaii-based Galapagos' status as an 8A eases access to the extensive expertise in technology solutions, strategic planning and engineering support offered by the firm – avoiding the notorious slow-downs of traditional contracting, drastically decreasing the time to source solutions and get them into the field faster.

Mr. Kleppe has wasted no time in putting his intimate understanding of the evolving space theater to use, and to great effect. He is leading a four-person team supporting the U.S. Space Force and their product center, the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), headquartered at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California. One such effort is developing a senior General Officer advisory panel tasked with the conceptualization of solutions surrounding the tough issues facing the U.S. Space Force acquisition mission.

In this setting, Mike is among like-minded peers."Gen. Raymond, U.S. Space Force's Chief of Space Operations (CSO), tasked the community to move fast in fielding space war fighting capabilities," said Kleppe. "Commercial industry is moving fast. Our RCOs (Rapid Capabilities Offices) are moving fast. And it's time to really spread that pacing across the rest of the Service. I get that. Galapagos gets that and I can sense Space Force senior leadership is eager to work with organizations that can move quickly."

Founded in 2017, Galapagos Federal Systems began in providing IT and data solutions to Rapid Capability Offices and other Department of Defense offices and commands. Today, it has expanded its presence across the United States, offering strategic planning and advisory support across the interagency spectrum.

As an 8A certified small business, Galapagos has been able to respond to USSF senior leader edict of rapidity, a mindset that the company has taken mantle, bottom to top – many of whom, like Kleppe, have sat on both sides of the table. "We are planning and architecting solutions and support for Air, Space, Surface and Sub-surface domains, with a team of men and women who know the problems, know the hurdles - but also the opportunities, that exist to move rapidly from the RCOs into Space Force organizations such as SMC, NSDC, CSpOC, and Space Force Headquarters USSF," said Kleppe.Galapagos Federal Systems is headquartered in Kihei, Hawaii, with 100+ team members across the United States.
