Klick Health Named a Best Workplace for Inclusion for Second Consecutive Year

TORONTO , May 18 /Businesswire/ - In recognition of its continued commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) practices, Klick Health was today named one of the Best Workplaces for Inclusion by Great Place to Work® Institute, the global workplace culture authority, for the second consecutive year. Klick was also recently named a Best Managed Company for the 13th consecutive year.

“DE&I has always been an integral cornerstone of our culture, but last year we decided we needed to do more in this area to embody our people-first ethos even more fully,” said Chief People Officer Glenn Zujew. “The recognition of this award, and the fact that it’s based on Klicksters’ direct feedback on how they’re treated at work, regardless of how they identify, means the world to us.”

Over the last year, Klick has established a DE&I Council, elevated and expanded its Employee Resource Groups (Klicksters-of-Color, Women, Queer/LGBTQ+, Parents, and Mental Health), and made several other specific and measurable commitments.

Call for Change: DE&I Impact Report

Most notably in June 2020, Klick signed the advertising industry’s Call for Change letter, pledging to take 12 actions to operationalize DE&I and do more to fight racism. In August 2020, it conducted its inaugural DE&I benchmarking survey and set goals to grow diversity. This data is available in Klick’s 2021 DE&I Impact Report.

Klick has also hosted exclusive anti-racism talks and book clubs for its team members to help provide a solid understanding of how race and racism operate in society and in the workplace. Keynote speakers have included New York Times bestselling authors, such as Ijeoma Oluo (So You Want to Talk about Race); Robin DiAngelo (White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism); and Nikole Hannah-Jones, creator of The 1619 Project.

Other virtual events have included:

  • For Pride: a Jackbox Party Gaymes Night, LGBTQ2SIA+ Mental Health During the Coronavirus Crisis talk with Jake Mossop, and LIT Tavern at Home: Club Queerantine with DJ Craig Dominic;
  • A Q&A with Andrew Gelwicks, author of The Queer Advantage: Conversations with LGBTQ+ Leaders on the Power of Identity;
  • A Soca dance class and Zoom-based party with DJ Shay to celebrate Caribana;
  • A virtual Tamil Heritage Month cooking class;
  • An education series during Black History Month, paying homage to Black contributors to the worlds of medicine and science; and
  • For International Women’s Day, Klick’s annual Speed Mentoring event was adapted for Zoom.

Earlier this year, Klick was also named a Great Place to Work, a Best Workplace for Women; and received a Fast Company World Changing Idea honorable mention for its unique Mobile Flu Shot Clinic.

The list of Best Workplaces for Inclusion™ was announced earlier today, and is based on direct feedback from employees of the organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work®. To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work- Certified™ in the past year and at least 90 percent of employees must agree they are treated fairly, regardless of personal characteristics (such as gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation).
