Providing Community and Care for San Jose’s Aging Adults, Sales Center for Belmont Village Senior Living Los Gatos To Open

SAN JOSE, Calif. , July 22 /Businesswire/ - Belmont Village Senior Living Los Gatos is pleased to announce the opening of its sales center on July 27th at the Union School District, 5175 Union Ave, San Jose, CA. On track to open its doors to residents and families by early 2022, the spacious, 125,303 gross square feet senior living community will reside on the highly sought after land adjacent to the Union School District campus at 5121 Union Ave, joining the other Belmont Village Bay Area communities located in Albany, Sunnyvale, and San Jose. The newly opened sales center will now offer studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom residence plans, valet parking and housekeeping services with no buy-in or long-term contract required.

“We are thrilled to be able to help aging adults find a place of safety and care after struggling alone at home for months during the pandemic. Families feared for both the physical and mental health of their aging loved ones. In isolation, many seniors were unable to cook or care for themselves properly, and falls, burns, ailments, a decline in memory and bouts of depression went unnoticed with no one to assist and support them,” says Maria Cura Castro, Belmont Villages Los Gatos Community Relations Director. “However, the residents at Belmont Village are able to enjoy a healthy balance of innovative, socially engaging and intellectually rich multigenerational programming, nutritious meals, whole brain fitness, mindfulness, calm, gardening, dedication to fitness, exercise, yoga, tai chi, meditation, and outdoor events.”

Built in the California Green Building Code standard, Belmont Village Los Gatos is thoughtfully designed to cater to the lifestyle and interests of residents while also providing a full spectrum of support and 24/7 care. Residents will enjoy an abundance of amenities including concierge and transportation services, a vibrant social activity calendar, on-site physiotherapy and fitness center, art studio, screening room, club lounge, fully outfitted sports and game lounge, full-service salon and spa, and gourmet dining at Josephine’s Kitchen which will offer chef-prepared meals with friends.

Architecturally and culturally blending into the surroundings, Belmont Village Los Gatos, boasts stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the mountains, Castle Rock State Park, and the Sierra Azul Preserve. The pet-friendly community is located near the Los Gatos Creek Dog Park, where pet-owning residents can gather and enjoy each other’s company. Adapting to the unique culture of the California’s wine region, residents can enjoy personal wine storage and tasting room. In addition, making the most of San Jose’s beautiful weather, there will be an option to enjoy alfresco outdoor dining.

All aspects of daily life are influenced by Belmont Village's proprietary, evidence-based approach to programming, health, and wellness. Residents benefit from on-site physical, speech and occupational therapy services, short-term respite and transitional stays, Whole Brain Fitness Lifestyle, Circle of Friends® memory support, Dedicated Memory Care Neighborhood to support cognitive strength and the Diabetes Center of Excellence. Educational activities are taught by current and former professors, mindfulness programs are designed to reduce anxiety and depression, and residents are encouraged to join in interactive multigenerational projects with students for mental and physical wellness, happiness, and contentment.

Los Gatos is Belmont Village Senior Living’s 14th community in California. Selected through a competitive RFP process, Belmont Village is developing the former maintenance and service yard of the Union School District, one of the top performing K-8 school districts in California. Under a long term 99-year ground lease, this public private partnership will uniquely integrate residents and staff with the surrounding community and serve as a model of excellence, helping residents continue to enjoy engaging, purposeful lives, and truly feel at home among friends and neighbors.

“A serious complication of Covid-19 has been an increase in isolation and depression for seniors living alone at home,” says Belmont Village Founder and CEO Patricia Will. “Our team of professionals keep our residents engaged and connected mentally, physically and socially as everything we do is devoted to ensuring our communities are the kinds of places where residents are happy and fulfilled, and their families are confident that the environment and care Belmont Village provides are of the highest quality. Our entire staff truly believes that aging is a gift and that caring for the aging is a privilege.”
