Inpatient Treatment Now Available at MiraCare Behavioral Healthcare Center in Tinley Park

TINLEY PARK, Ill. , December 01 /Businesswire/ - Chris Higgins, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist and founder of MiraCare Neuro-Behavioral Health, PC (formerly Palos Behavioral Health Professionals), has announced that state-of-the-art inpatient facilities are now fully open at MiraCare Center in Tinley Park. With the approval of its inpatient hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health, MiraCare is now able to accommodate short hospital stays for children and adolescents. “With no acute care hospital beds currently serving the youth in our community, our Inpatient Services will provide children and adolescents and their families with the treatment resources needed to recover from a behavioral health crisis, all in one place,” stated Chris Higgins. “In keeping with our mission to provide children, adolescents, adults and families with appropriate care that is comprehensive, coordinated and patient-focused, MiraCare Center is fully staffed with the resources to accommodate short hospital stays for up to 30 patients,” he added.

Inpatient stays typically average between 7 and 10 days. With a 24/7 safe and patient-centric environment, MiraCare inpatient facilities consist of units for adolescents ages 12 to 17. Interiors are spacious with tall ceilings and calming therapeutic shades of blue and green. To help dispel fear and anxiety common to hospital stays, patient rooms are warm, welcoming and secure with large windows, comfortable beds, desks and restrooms. Activity rooms and group therapy spaces feature bright, uplifting murals painted by local artist Natalie Shugalio to encourage active treatment and healing.

MiraCare Group represents over 300 years of combined experience in Child and Adolescent Behavioral treatment. Patients in the Inpatient Hospitalization Program receive multi-disciplinary treatment through group, individual and family therapy sessions. These treatment options focus on thorough assessment and symptom stabilization while working on healthy living skills. Professional coordination of care exists between medical, psychological, and diagnostic providers prior to and throughout the hospital stay. Ongoing communication between the child, parents and existing healthcare providers fosters a highly collaborative environment.
