ONSCREEN Launches the Moment TV-Based Senior Video Calling Device

Startup Builds Upon Success Making Video Communication Even Easier for Older Adults and Their Families

IRVINE, Calif., March 21, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ONSCREEN, Inc., a leading provider of video calling solutions for older adults, is thrilled to announce the launch of ONSCREEN Moment. This new hardware is designed to make video communication even easier for older adults and their families, by taking advantage of the large screen capabilities of any TV and completely automating every aspect of the call for the older adult.

Moment is a significant upgrade from the previous version, offering increased capabilities and a simpler installation process. It is an all-in-one solution with an integrated camera, multiple far-field microphones, led light indicators, and a built-in speaker, as well as support for HDMI input and output, making switching to and from a video call significantly easier.

"We are proud to improve upon our already successful solution, and make it even easier for seniors to stay connected with their families and caregivers in a meaningful way," said Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN, Inc. "Moment is the result of working with our customers and listening to their feedback, as well as leveraging the latest hardware capabilities. We believe that everyone deserves to feel connected, valued, and supported, no matter their age or circumstances and are proud of this next-generation product's ability keep family connected with their aging parents."

In addition to its ease of use, Moment offers a range of capabilities, including the ability to join Zoom meetings and virtual events, allowing older adults to be more social, without ever needing to leave their homes. Family members can also find peace of mind using Moment's Daily Update feature, which lets the older adult record a video message for their family at a specific time of day.

Moment is included as part of ONSCREEN's $19.99 monthly subscription service, which offers features like daily check-in video recordings, continuous upgrades, and quality monitoring. This makes it more affordable and accessible for families to stay connected with their older members.

"Connection to friends and family is key to the emotional and mental health of older adults. The importance of having easy-to-use technology to support this connection was underscored during the pandemic," said Mary Furlong, CEO of Mary Furlong Associates, and AgeTech thought leader. "The use of TV screens in video calls, as ONSCREEN is doing, can bring down technical barriers, particularly for those who can't successfully use smartphones or tablets."

According to the CDC, social isolation and loneliness are major problems for the older adult population, affecting a significant portion of this demographic, and causing profound negative health effects. Using video communication technology has been shown to reduce loneliness and help keep social circles intact even when the mobility of older adults might be impacted, and getting out to visit with friends and family is a challenge. ONSCREEN's goal is to help reduce isolation and loneliness in the older adult population and help them thrive while aging at home.

Social isolation and loneliness among older adults are not just minor inconveniences; they are severe and pervasive problems that can have profoundly negative effects on their health and wellbeing. These issues affect a significant portion of this demographic, and the consequences can be devastating. Moment is a powerful video communication technology that can help. By leveraging this technology, we can help reduce loneliness, keep social circles intact, and improve the overall quality of life for older adults. ONSCREEN's mission is to help these individuals thrive while aging at home by breaking down the technological barriers that prevent them from staying connected with their loved ones.

Moment is now available for subscription on the ONSCREEN, Inc. website. For more information, visit https://onscreeninc.com.
