Orbia’s Precision Agriculture Business, Netafim, Achieves Certifications from SCS Global Services for its Recycling Progra

FRESNO, Calif. , September 20 /Businesswire/ - Netafim, an Orbia business and the world leader in precision irrigation solutions, announced it has been awarded a prestigious certification for its industry-leading recycling program. In addition to its recycling program, Netafim has also been awarded a recycled content certification for its production inputs, which are a sustainable byproduct of the company’s ReGen™ recycling and manufacturing operations in California. This certification marks a significant milestone for the company’s sustainability commitments and practices.

The SCS Recycled Content Certification evaluates products made from pre-consumer or post-consumer materials diverted from the waste stream. The certification measures and verifies the percentage of recycled content to make an accurate claim in the marketplace.

Netafim’s ReGen Recycling Facility earned the SCS Recycling Program Certification, spotlighting how the company collects and recycles end-of-life irrigation tubing in an environmentally responsible way. In 2007, Netafim opened a dedicated facility in California to process end-of-life drip irrigation tubing into high-quality recycled resin through a proprietary process developed over the last 16 years. The end-of-life tubing is carefully shredded, washed, and pelletized, resulting in high-quality recycled production inputs. These recycled production inputs become part of a sustainable manufacturing process that creates top-quality drip irrigation tubing, ready to be used again.

“Achieving the SCS Recycled Content and Recycling Program Certifications highlights our commitment to sustainability. Our 360-degree recycling program allows growers to farm in a more sustainable way by reusing material that would have previously gone into landfills,” says Tate Kelley, Netafim USA Product Manager. “Netafim and Orbia Precision Agriculture are proud to be recognized for our role in helping solve the world’s biggest sustainability challenges.”
