Summary:		It was another steady month for the labor market, with no big post-summer surprises, according to the September 2023 Workforce Activity Report published by UKG. Shift work increased slightly by 0.1%, highlighting a remarkably consistent labor market and a “no news is great news” month as the job market remains employee friendly.

		UKG will discuss current and future potential trends shaping the frontline-worker economy on October 3, at 10:00 a.m. ET, including: Why it remains an employee-driven labor market; Slight growth across industries, including manufacturing (0.9%), healthcare (0.4%), and the services and distribution sectors (0.4%); What a third consecutive monthly decline in retail (-1.9%) could mean for the holiday hiring and shopping season; and How labor strikes in multiple industries impact overall workforce activity.
