In his role at IBC, he directed all aspects of the bank’s network, which includes 41 locations that serve 30 cities in 20 counties across the state of Oklahoma and North Texas. This includes locations in Oklahoma City, Tulsa metro areas, Lawton, surrounding rural communities and the Dallas Metroplex.

“Bill is widely known throughout our state as a very capable banker and civic leader,” said Dan Boren, Chickasaw Nation Secretary of Commerce. “We are excited to have him bring a fresh perspective and innovative strategies that will enhance our operations and our community engagements at Chickasaw Community Bank.”

"I am honored to be chosen to lead Chickasaw Community Bank, a bank that values not just financial success but also the well-being and growth of the communities we serve. Together, with the support of our dedicated team, we will continue to build on the bank’s strong foundation while forging new paths in community engagement and economic development," Schonacher said.

Schonacher’s commitment to community is demonstrated in his many volunteer efforts and board memberships. Currently, Schonacher serves as the Immediate Past Chair of The State Chamber of Oklahoma; Chairman, Political Affairs of The State Chamber of Oklahoma; Chairman of the State Chamber Research Foundation; Vice Chairman of Oklahoma’s Judicial Nominating Commission; board member of other organizations including the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, the United Way of Central Oklahoma, and as a National Trustee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Previously, Schonacher has served as the Vice Chairman of the TSET Board of Investors; a steering committee member of Forward OKC IV & V; board member of the Oklahoma Bankers Association; Leadership Oklahoma Class XXX member and board member Allied Arts.

Additionally, he was recognized in 2020 as one of Oklahoma’s “Most Admired CEOs” and in 2023, one of the “55 Over 55 Inspiring Oklahomans”.
