The implementation of reusable products is a key part of ASM Global’s bold sustainability goals, announced in 2023, which include the elimination of single-use plastic in front of house. Protecting the environment is one of the three pillars in the ASM Global Acts platform, which also includes investing in people and strengthening communities.

ASM Global Acts plans to roll out r.World’s products in its other venues across the country.

“We are pleased to have r.World as a supporter of ASM Global Acts,” said Shaun Beard, ASM Global senior vice president of food and beverage. “Our goal is to always provide our customers the best guest experiences in the live entertainment business, and r.World is clearly the top company in its field.”

“Thanks to r.World's reusable cup program, Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center has become a shining example of how sustainability can be seamlessly woven into the fabric of large-scale events,” said Robert Smit, general manager. “Moreover, the sense of community fostered by this initiative is palpable. Knowing that we're all united in our commitment to sustainability creates a shared sense of purpose among attendees, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the event. I commend r.World for their dedication to environmental stewardship and look forward to seeing more venues adopt similar initiatives in the future.”

r.World is the nation’s No. 1 reuse program focused on building the infrastructure, platform and movement for the reuse economy. r.World provides simple, turnkey and cost-effective reusable alternatives — including r.Cup reusable cups and r.Ware reusable food ware containers — to replace single-use disposables. The company works with the world’s leading artists and brands at music and sports venues, corporate campuses, theaters, aquariums, zoos, and cultural institutions across the country… anywhere there is single-use waste.

“We’re thrilled to support ASM Global Acts to bring reuse to their vast network of venues,” said Michael Martin, founder and CEO of r.World. “Their commitment to sustainability innovations like reuse is playing an important role in accelerating the impact and awareness of the reuse movement.”

Unveiled in 2021, ASM Global Acts has spearheaded numerous philanthropic endeavors, including expanded scholarship and internship programs, waste diversion and sustainability programs, and community giving efforts. With over 40 venues, ASM Global has the largest portfolio of certified green venues in the world.

The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will be held April 19-21.
