Lieutenant General David Fridovich retired from the United States Army in 2011 after more than 37 years of service. His active-duty career culminated with his role as the Deputy Commander of US Special Operations Command (SOCOM). His previous assignments include the Director of the Center for Special Operations at SOCOM, the Commander of Special Operations Command – Pacific, the Commander of the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he led the Army Special Operations Task Force: Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines, and the Commander of Combined/Joint Special Operations Task Force in Operation Joint Forge, Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“Academy is honored to welcome General Fridovich to the firm’s Advisory Board,” stated Academy’s Chairman and CEO Chance Mims. “His impressive experience leading Special Operations Forces across various geographic theaters makes him uniquely suited to advise our team and clients.”

General Fridovich commented on joining the firm: “Academy Securities is the exact stellar institution I’ve been looking forward to contributing to since I left active duty!”

General Fridovich graduated from Knox College in 1974 and earned his master’s degree from Tulane University. After commissioning as an Infantry Second Lieutenant and serving with the 172nd Light Infantry Brigade, he was assigned as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Norwich University, where he trained the Mountain Cold Weather Cadre and Rescue Team. General Fridovich has additionally studied at the US Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and at the British Forces Royal College of Defense Studies in London, England.
