MoPOP Announces Revamped Volunteer Program With Exclusive Benefits

SEATTLE , April 29 /Businesswire/ - Today, The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) announces two community-driven initiatives: A revamped volunteer program and exclusive collaboration with local apartment complexes. Through these initiatives, MoPOP is renewing its commitment to the community and driving opportunities for people to engage in the power of pop culture.

The revitalization of the volunteer program includes a handful of exclusive perks and opportunities for volunteers to immerse themselves in the museum culture more than ever before. Some additions include:

  • Exclusive Exhibit Previews: Be among the first to experience new exhibits.
  • Free Admission: Enjoy unlimited access to MoPOP on days off.
  • Special Events Access: Attend special events that are not open to the general public.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Volunteer times that work around personal commitments.
  • Valuable Networking Opportunities: Connect with professionals and enthusiasts in the cultural sector.

“We are thrilled to unveil the enhancements to our volunteer program at MoPOP. These updates reflect our commitment to creating a rewarding and enriching experience for our volunteers, who play a vital role in the vibrancy of our museum,” said Jessica Lane, Director of Education and Public Programs at MoPOP. “This revamp not only amplifies the experience of our volunteers but also strengthens MoPOP's mission to bring people together through pop culture.”

Aligned with its dedication to the community, MoPOP will also work with local apartment complexes to offer 20% off museum tickets and 10% off membership dues. This is the first program of its kind for the museum and seeks to engage locals on a deeper level.

"Both the volunteer revamp and residential community program are instrumental in enabling us to deliver engaging, transformative experiences that resonate with our community and visitors alike,” said Michele Y. Smith, CEO at MoPOP. “By integrating unique opportunities such as membership discounts which provide exclusive previews and valuable networking, we not only enrich our visitor experience but also amplify our educational mission. These benefits are designed to reward our volunteers and members for their indispensable contributions and to encourage a greater interaction with the diverse narratives that pop culture presents.”

Those looking to join MoPOP’s next volunteer cohort can visit https://www.mopop.org/volunteer. For more information on the apartment collaborations, please email Advancement@mopop.org.
