U.S. Education Official To Address National Association For Urban Debate Leagues

 







Charles P. Rose, general counsel at the U.S. Department of Education, will deliver remarks at a reception of the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues on Thursday at 801 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C.

Rose will discuss his work as the chief legal officer for the Education Department and legal adviser to the secretary of education. Among those in attendance will be education stakeholders, former debaters, lawyers and students.

The National Association for Urban Debate Leagues consists of high school debate groups in 24 of the nation's largest cities, including more than 400 high schools. Through the years, more than 40,000 urban public school students have competed in urban debate leagues.
