NEW YORK - Hundreds of New York City taxi drivers, many of them minorities, today took their yellow cabs to City Hall to seek help. They want financial support from the City because of the sharp decline in ridership resulting from the COVID-19 impact. Manhattan Federal Judge Shira Scheindlin has given the go ahead to a lawsuit that challenged the city's stop-and-frisk policies as biased, especially toward Blacks and Hispanics.
